In Bipolar Blonde, Morgan Hutchinson - founder of BURU - pulls back the curtain on the polished life she's built to share the unfiltered truth beneath it: a raw, redemptive memoir of living with bipolar disorder, surviving mania and crawling back from rock bottom.

With the same candor and warmth that turned BURU into a community, Morgan traces her descent into suicidal darkness and the hard-won work of rescuing herself, offering readers not a tidy recovery arc but an honest companion for the parts of mental illness we're still afraid to say out loud.

Arriving October 2026, Bipolar Blonde is for anyone who's ever smiled through the storm - and a clarion call to finally talk about mental health with openness, honesty and humor.

Gut-Wrenchingly Honest, Captivating, and Full of Hope

Bipolar Blonde is written with such gut-wrenching honesty that I simply could not put it down. I devoured every page in one very long night of reading. Morgan tells her story with a rawness and vulnerability that is both heartbreaking and incredibly captivating.

I experienced such a wide range of emotions while reading this book. At times I was heartbroken, hopeful, frustrated, and even angry. I was not particularly fond of Greer invading Morgan’s privacy, and I found myself wondering whether that experience contributed in some way to some of Morgan’s choices that followed. And the other twin’s comment about the money being “Richard’s”? Bless their hearts! That one definitely got a reaction out of me.

Then the scales are beautifully balanced by Brett and Morgan’s mom—two definite champions in Morgan’s story. Their love and support really stood out to me.

What I loved most, though, is the hope within Morgan’s story. She shows that a diagnosis of bipolar disorder does not mean giving up on having a meaningful, fulfilling life. There is a way forward—not simply to live with bipolar disorder, but to thrive.

I work with individuals who battle mental health challenges, and this is a book I will gladly share and recommend. Morgan’s honesty gives readers something incredibly valuable: the opportunity to feel understood while also seeing that there can be hope on the other side of some very dark days.

    I absolutely loved this book.

    Captivated From Beginning to End

Bipolar Blonde is one of those books that will stay with you long after you finish reading. I truly could not put it down—I was completely captivated from beginning to end. Morgan is so incredibly honest, vulnerable, and courageous in sharing her story, and there were so many moments I found myself laughing, tearing up, and wishing I could reach through the pages and give a big hug. I loved all the little details and one-liners, and somehow the writing is both beautiful and so much fun, even in the midst of some really heavy moments. More than anything, I think this book is going to make so many people feel seen and remind them that they are not alone. I truly believe Bipolar Blonde is going to change lives. What a gift to the world, Morgan. ❤️

    Compelling and Authentic

Bipolar Blonde pulls you in immediately; I finished it in 3 days. Morgan’s first-person account of living with bipolar disorder is compelling, vulnerable, and authentic. But this book is about much more than a diagnosis. It offers an intimate look at marriage, divorce, identity, and the complicated expectations placed on women, especially in the South. Morgan tells the whole story, including the uncomfortable, messy, and heartbreaking parts.

Bipolar Blonde is courageous, redemptive and beautifully told.
